This blog is a personal blog that began in January 2006 under the name “Crux of the Matter.” While there was a long break between the federal election in October 2015 and the summer of 2018 — due to health issues — it was reactivated as Crux of the Matter 2.0 on August 27th, 2018.

Sandy Crux is the blogger. She is a retired educator who has taught at every level of the education system, from elementary to teacher graduate education in two Southern Ontario universities. She received her Ph.D in educational psychology and curriculum from the University of Toronto at OISE in the 1980s. She also has political experience, having worked as an Executive Assistant and Communications Advisor for an Ontario PC MPP during the first Mike Harris mandate.

While Sandy usually votes “progressive conservative,” she has been known to vote for all three of the major parties at one time or another, both federally and provincially (Ontario). At the moment, however, she supports the Conservative Party of Canada and its relatively new leader, Andrew Scheer. She also supports the Ontario PC Party and the Ontario Ford Government.
